Like the Deutsche Bank Collection, Ways ofSeeing
Abstraction is globally conceived with a selection of rather un-known or rarely shown works by internationally renowned artists such as Gerhard Richter and Tadaaki Kuwayama, and a num- ber of new discoveries and rediscoveries including the posi- tions of Rana Begum, Jennie C. Jones, Kapwani Kiwanga, and Wilhelm Müller. The exhibition intentionally dispenses with categories such as Constructivism,Abstract Expressionism, Informel, Hard bi. Edge, Concrete Art, and Neo Geo. lt shows that younger art- ist generations, in particular, not only use elements of these ried now historical styles as their reservoir of forms, but also rein- terpret and combine them with current, even political content.
