Exhibition introduction
Rush to the Wilderness :The pandemic era has shifted our perspectives and highlighted the interconnectedness of all beings, including the natural world. Inspired by our collective urge to return to the wilderness, we explore the relationship between nature, human identity, and connection in the aftermath of a global crisis in this exhibition. As we navigate a new normal, we are reminded of the vital role that nature plays in our lives, providing solace, nourishment, and a sense of belonging. Through art and reflection, this exhibition invites us to immerse ourselves in the diversity of flora and fauna, to appreciate the delicate balance of ecosystems, and to cultivate a deeper connection to the natural world as we move forward in a post-pandemic era.

Prasad Beaven
U.K./英国
Prasad was born in London, 1994 and spent 6 years of his childhood studying in India, the foothills of the Himalayas. This early immersion in the mountains fostered a love for the majestic beauty nature has to offer. As a practitioner of meditation, he emphasises the importance of his inner well-being and strives to constantly achieve a state of peace, knowing that this will permeate into his artwork.
Studying a Masters in the Princes School of Traditional Arts helped Prasad discover Chinese Landscape Painting which has been a great revelation for him. Through studying Chinese thought in painting he has understood the subtle significance of not just imitating nature but expressing his inner feelings about it.

Phil Hohn
Germany/德国
I am a German artist based in both Berlin and Frankfurt. I completed my formal education with a MSc in Social Psychology from London School of Economics in 2011. Seeking a way to combine psychology and creativity, I autodidactically obtained the skills of artistic practice. After learning how to develop ideas through physical and digital models, I gained experience in entry-level positions at two design and artist studios in Frankfurt and London. I then sought to learn more about production, and worked for a producer of larger design and art pieces. The technical knowledge I obtained about machines and the transformation of materials, qualified me for a position as designer and project leader at Olafur Eliasson's studio, Berlin, which I joined in 2014. I have been working with Eliasson for 8+ years, both in the conception and realisation of artworks. The environment of one of the biggest artist studios in the world has given me a unique and highly professional relationship with all aspects of artmaking. In 2019, I reduced my hours to focus on my own works. I found a small studio space near my hometown Frankfurt, and began producing my initial body of work I am now presenting.

Stacy Isenbarger
U.S. / 美国
Stacy Isenbarger’s artworks provoke a sense of tactile memory. Collisions of materiality within precariously occupied space challenge viewers to confront the sentimentality of distance and restraint. Tensions created put us at odds with comfort and the familiar, asking us to confront the air shifting around us. Through her work we are often reminded of what seems just out of reach but perhaps still worth pursuing. Isenbarger’s creative pursuits include sculpture, installation, mixed-media drawings, student mentorship and supporting community exchange through art.
She works as an Associate Professor of Art + Design at the University of Idaho. Currently she shares her time between Moscow, Idaho, USA and Cardiff, Wales. When she's not teaching or making—and sometimes when she is—she's usually dancing since the act continuously validates her joy of community acceptance and shaking up space.

Steve Kong
China /中国
Steve's artistic practice is deeply concerned with the politics of the digital body within a post-human context. His exploration is driven by his reflection on the power dynamics between society and the individual, as well as his resistance to and questioning of authority.
Drawing on Shoshana Zuboff's observation that our lives are increasingly commodified as data, which is then exploited for social control, Yan's work incorporates Christian Fuchs' study of social media and the Panopticon to examine the ways in which different digital spaces shape our understanding of bodily authenticity. Through his art, Yan seeks to explore the concept of 'different ways of being personal, physical, spatial and self' in these complex virtual and real world environments. By navigating between the two realms, Yan's work offers a provocative and thought-provoking reflection on the blurred lines between the real and the virtual.

Giulia Simeoni
Italy / 意大利
She is a multidisciplinary, figurative artist, physicist and dramaturg.
Her creation combines a poetical approach to everyday life with a sincere, disenchanted look at social and environmental topics.
Ancient techniques welcome ad hoc innovation. The mute dialectic of situations, concepts and shapes paves the way to an ethical journey of knowledge and recognition, to recreate a synthetic depth which does not shatter the cohesion of meaning between the things.
In 2022 she was awarded the Honorable Mention at the London Contemporary Art Exhibition “Spiel Allein”. In 2021 she was awarded the international Academic Prize of Philosophy and Aesthetics “Apollo Dionisiaco” for Contemporary Art and Poetry in Rome, along with the special mention of the critics at the International Festival of Contemporary Art “DeSidera” in Trieste. In 2020 she realised the Installation “Punto. Volume. Massa.” for the Festivaletteratura and the Diocesan Museum of Mantua, involving also visually impaired persons in the cultural dialogue.
She took part to several group and solo exhibitions in galleries, museums, and international fairs all over Europe.

Josh Spindler
U.K. / 英国
Josh Spindler learnt how to ‘see’ the Internet and he can no longer ignore its existence on the horizon. Making the Internet ‘visible’ is the first step into making it common knowledge that it is an entirely physical network that has been affecting this planet ever since its creation.
Today he focuses on making mostly lens based fine art that speculates a near future that visualises a world where the climate crisis has had an effect on how we see the world, due to extreme internet growth and energy usage. Direct cinema is key to his practice, grounded, humanistic point of views are important to making the ‘universe’ he has created feel real. Spindler takes the massive subject matters in his research, like Timothy Morton’s thoughts on hyperobjects, the placement of the internet as explored in Andrew Blum’s Tubes: A Journey to the Center of the Internet and David Wallace-Wells specific breakdown of dangers in The Uninhabitable Earth, and applies them to everyday life through his unique visuals. Whether that be through portrait documentary, opportunistic photography or conceptual stories he funnels those ideas into personal and emotional pieces making them matter on a much more accessible level for the audience.
