WELCOME TO AP Art Exhibition

“Not all who wander are lost” – These words by Lord of the Rings writer, J.R.R. Tolkien, hold the truest when the 2022-2023 AP Art students were asked to title their first ever Art Exhibition. The roaring reply of the AP Art class to the question? “Call it – Incomplete Exhibit!”.

With real-world practical experience as the backbone of AP Arts, it was decided that this year, the school will begin a new chapter in exposing students to the “world of work” by having them plan, set-up & host two professional art exhibitions. The aim is to showcase to their families, peers and most importantly the public, their official AP Art portfolio work. These same artworks will ultimately be sent to the United States for marking and scoring.

真实的实践经验是AP艺术的支柱。今年，杭州贝赛思决定开启一个新的篇章，即让学生计划、设置和主持两场专业的艺术展览，让他们接触到 "工作的世界"。在展览中，学生们可以向家人、同学，最重要的是向公众，展示他们的AP艺术作品集。这些作品最终将被送往美国进行评判和打分。

AN INCOMPLETE EXHIBITION

This first exhibition will mark the halfway point of the AP Arts student portfolios, while this is very much an incomplete showing of their final portfolios, it still marks a significant milestone worth celebrating and viewing. The artworks that will be on display focus mainly on the development of conceptual art. Conceptualism is art in which the concept or idea involved in the work takes precedence over traditional aesthetic, technical, and material concerns. In other words, the students aimed to ask deep questions about life, love, and the universe using the visual medium. The artworks are bound to make every viewer reflect internally and perhaps even shed a tear.

这场首秀标志着AP艺术课学生的作品集创作顺利进入下一阶段，虽然这在很大程度上是最终作品集的不完整展示，但它仍然是一个值得庆祝和观赏的展览，具有重要里程碑意义。将要展出的艺术作品主要关于概念艺术发展。概念主义是指作品中涉及的概念或想法突破传统的审美、技术和材料的艺术。换句话说，学生们旨在利用视觉媒介提出关于生命、爱情和宇宙的深刻问题。这些艺术作品一定会触动观众的内心，甚至可能感动落泪。

The art exhibition will be held at Ultramontane, near the West Lake area. On Saturday, 10th of December, the Exhibition will open to an exclusive invite-only event. The opening ceremony will be grand and spectacular. Public viewing will occur on the 11th of December, and we would like to invite everyone to attend the exhibition at least once. Please note that we will keep you updated if there are any changes of the event due to the covid situation.

我们的艺术展将在西湖附近的空山美术馆举行。12月10日（周六），展览将以独家邀请的方式开放。开幕式将十分隆重而壮观。12月11日（周日），展览将向公众开放。我们希望大家至少能来参观一次。需要您注意的是，如果活动因疫情产生任何变动，我们将及时告知。
