喜讯！MVRDV入围武汉图书馆新馆建筑方案国际征集

MVRDV联合浙江大学建筑设计研究院，成功入围武汉图书馆新馆建筑方案国际征集。此番评选为资格预审+概念提案阶段。接下来，MVRDV将携联合体单位与另外五家入围团队进入下一阶段建筑方案设计阶段。

MVRDV, in collaboration with UAD, was announced a shortlist in the International Design Competition of for The New Wuhan Library. 6 teams from 60 international competitiors were shortlisted after the first phase of Pre-qualification and Design Proposal, and will work on the concept design in the following months.

武汉图书馆新馆选址位于武汉王家墩中央商务区核心地段，常青路与云彩路交汇处。规划用地面积约4.33公顷（约65亩），总建筑面积约为13.64万平方米，其中图书馆建筑规模10万平方米，方志馆建筑规模1万平方米，配建地下室2.64万平方米。项目计划投资约18亿元。

The New Wuhan Library is located at the center of Wuhan Wangjiadun Central Business District, at the intersection of Changqing Road and Yuncai Road. The planned land area is about 4.33 hectares (about 65 mu), and the total floor area is about 136,400 square meters, including 100,000 square meters of library, 10,000 square meters of Fangzhi Hall, and 26,400 square meters of allotted basement. The planned investment of the project is about 1.8 billion yuan.

本次资格预审评审委员会由来自北京大学、东南大学、西安建筑科技大学、重庆大学、湖北美术学院、英国福斯特建筑事务所、水石设计-米川工作室等知名高校、设计机构、文化部门的7名专家组成。

The jury panel for this phase was composed of seven experts from renowned universities, design institutions and cultural departments, including Peking University, Southeast University, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, Chongqing University, Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, Foster Architects (UK), and W&R Micron Architects.

MVRDV was set up in 1993 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands by Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries. MVRDV engages globally in providing solutions to contemporary architectural and urban issues. A research-based and highly collaborative design method engages experts from all fields, clients and stakeholders in the creative process. The results are exemplary and outspoken buildings, urban plans, studies and objects, which enable our cities and landscapes to develop towards a better future.

Early projects by the office, such as the headquarters for the Dutch Public Broadcaster VPRO and WoZoCo housing for the elderly in Amsterdam lead to international acclaim. 250 architects, designers and other staff develop projects in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative design process which involves rigorous technical and creative investigation. MVRDV works with BIM and has official in-house BREEAM and LEED assessors. Together with Delft University of Technology, MVRDV runs The Why Factory, an independent think tank and research institute providing an agenda for architecture and urbanism by envisioning the city of the future.
