「想象力之心」宁波象山人民广场片区实施性城市设计和概念性建筑与景观设计国际竞赛已于10月圆满结束，竞赛结果公布后获得了极大反响与热烈讨论，感谢各界朋友的关注与支持！拾分之壹团队特将七强方案整理为系列解读文章，希望由此展现出每个方案对“象山人民广场片区”的独特解读，以及对“想象力之心”的深刻回应。
本篇为UNStudio联网建筑设计咨询（上海）有限公司（牵头）、浙江省建筑设计研究院、泛亚景观设计（上海）有限公司组成的联合体的二等奖方案——“青山卧象，山海共襄”的详解。
「HEART OF IMAGINATION」NINGBO XIANGSHAN PEOPLE’S SQUARE AREA URBAN DESIGN AND CONCEPTUAL ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPE DESIGN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION has been successfully completed in October. The announcement of the competition results received great response and heated discussion, thanks for the attention and support of companion of all fields! One-tenth has organized the seven shortlisted schemes into a series of interpretation articles, hoping to show each one's unique interpretation of "Xiangshan People's Square" and its profound response to "the heart of imagination".
This is a detailed view of the Second Prize scheme of the consortium consisting of UNStudio (initiating unit), Zhejiang Prov. Institute of Architectural Design and Research (ZIAD), and EARTHASIA (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.—"The People's Valley Between Mountain And Sea".

# 交通导向型城市花园
TOP (Transit Oriented Park)
将象山的地形和自然环境融入城市的中心，人民广场在未来可成为象山山海的缩影——群山环绕着繁荣生息的桑田。青山的形态在场地创造了一系列南北山谷，其中内含功能空间，远远看来有如海浪，形似象山蜿蜒的海岸线。
在传统TOD理念的基础上提出针对象山的“TOP (Transit Oriented Park) 交通导向城市花园”概念，在城市层面提供有科技感的绿色空间，保持以人为本的尺度，营造多样性的灵活空间。
By integrating the topography and natural environment of Xiangshan into the heart of the city, People's Square will in the future become a miniature of Xiangshan landscape—mountains surrounded by thriving fields. The shape of the green hills creates a series of north and south valleys in the site, containing functional spaces that resemble the waves from a distance and like the winding coastline of Xiangshan.
On the basis of the traditional TOD concept, "TOP” (Transit Oriented Park) for Xiangshan was put forward to provide a green space with a sense of technology at the city level, maintain a people-oriented scale, and create a flexible space of diversity.

Design Concept & Overall Planning
象山是一个独特而又奇特的地方，四面环山，面临大海，这样独特的地貌环境影响并形成了这个城市的传说、传统和特殊角色。这里的历史植入了象山人民的DNA，又为其未来的发展提供了途径。
Xiangshan is a unique and singular place. Surrounded by mountains with the ocean to the south, this distinct environment has influenced and formed the legends, traditions, and identity of the city. Such a history has both become the DNA of its people and provided the pathway to its future.
人民广场位于城市的核心区域，我们将象山独特的地貌特征融入了对人民广场周围的景观和社区设计之中。与环绕象山的山脉相似，我们的设计创造了系列的山地景观，它们包含了广场的公共建筑，以及一条蜿蜒至南部的河流。人民广场不仅仅是一片绿地，它为这里的居民提供了与众不同的环境，并激发游客的热情，让更多人来象山参观，体验与象山美景相呼应的科技感景观。
For People’s Square, which is at the core of the city, we bring the same relationship between the surrounding landscapes and the community. Similar to the mountain ranges encircling Xiangshan, our design creates a series of mountainscapes which are the public buildings that encompass the Square, with a river waterway to the south. The People’s square becomes not only a green destination for its inhabitants but also inspires visitors to come and visit Xiangshan, to experience a technological landscape that echoes the beauty of the region.
总体规划的设计由四个关于象山的城市主题共同驱动生成。北部的老城历史区，南边的城市发展，轨交站点和TOD从东边带进了技术，西边由河流引入了自然——它们共同将我们的社区联动起来，成为人民广场的核心。
The organization of the masterplan is driven by the merging of four themes that define the city of Xiangshan: history, with the old town from the north, and urban development from the south. The metro and TOD bring technology from the east, with the river introducing nature from the west. These together unite our community, which is at the heart of People’s Square.

The curves that originate from these four themes emerge to become the architectural mountains and the landscape of the Square. They form two complementary landscapes that rise up on each end of the master plan, emphasizing balance and creating a valley in between. This harmony combines the duality of urban modernity with past traditions and technological innovation with nature and landscapes.

“山脉”创造了广场的建筑。一连串较小的公共广场在规划中有序排列，创造了一次贯穿场地的游历之旅。在东部，山体塑造了靠近东谷路一侧的地铁站上盖，与到达广场相连，将游客引入一个零售体验空间；到达广场直接通向西部，和一系列坐落在东部山谷中的广场。在那里，游客可以体验到3种不同的场景：大型节事广场、户外运动区，以及自然和休闲区。
The mountains create the architecture of the Square, while a sequence of smaller public plazas aligns across the master plan to create a linked journey of discovery across the site. To the east, the mountain shapes the TOD and train station canopy next to Donggu road, connecting to the Arrival plaza and introducing the visitors to a retail experience space. The Arrival plaza directly leads to the west and a series of plazas sit in the valleys of the east mountainscape. There, visitors experience 3 different environments–the event plaza, the outdoor sports area, and the nature and recreation zone.

A discovery journey across the site
坐落在广场中部的中央广场区，将成为一个充满活力的舞台，承载象山充满活力的社区。这个广场可分为到达广场、活动和节庆区，也可合并为一个完整的圆形广场，具有一定的可适应性，能够举办不同规模的活动和节日庆典。
The Central Square area, sitting in the middle of the square, will be an energetic stage to host Xiangshan’s vibrant community. Either separated into the Arrival plaza and the Events and Festivals area or combined as a full circle. This plaza is adaptable and able to host different scales of events and celebrations.

带着象山传说的想象，河流引领着人们穿越场地的探索之路，并连接着外园河与南大河。这条河将恢复原有的生态系统，给山地景观带来生机，用绿色覆盖场地，将我们的人民广场变成一个绿色花园。
Reminiscent of the legends of Xiangshan, the river leads the path of discovery across the site and connects the Waiyuan and Nanda Rivers. The river will restore the original ecosystem and bring life to our mountains. Covering the site with green and transforming our People’s square into a Green Garden, visitors can explore sunken gardens, public squares, weaving stone walkways, and outdoor sports courts.

河流从西一直延伸向东，不仅连接了人民广场内的不同区域，并延续到了东侧未来社区，这种连接将为居民的聚集提供一个高质量的环境，并创造一个覆盖整个场地的绿化区域、一个有归属感的城市公园。
The river link extends all the way from the west to the east, connecting not only the different zones within People’s Square but also continuing into the Future Residential Community. This linkage to the future community to the east will provide a quality environment for the gathering of residents, and create a holistic green that expands along the whole site—an urban park with a sense of belonging.

文化类项目位于新华路西侧。全民阅读中心和全民运动中心由两座隆起的山丘组成，山海万象馆则漂浮在地景之上，并在人民广场的西北入口处形成一个城市地标。连接山海万象馆和市民中心的是一个隐秘的阅读庭院，雕刻在地景之中。
The cultural program is situated on the West of Xinhua Road. The Civic Reading Center and Public Fitness center are created by the two emerging mountains, with the Museum floating over the landscape, and creating a landmark at the northwest entrance to People’s Square. Connecting the museum and Civic Center is an intimate reading courtyard that carves into the landscape.
为了创造一个更加活跃且有生命力的人民广场，这三个单体建筑与三个独特的公园区域一一配对，在公共配套设施和公园之间创造一种共生关系——大型节事广场是全民阅读中心的室外延伸；阅读室为城市植入了一个室内外的城市客厅；自然和休闲的城市绿化空间创造了一个围绕万象馆的秘密花园；而户外运动区是作为象山居民的游乐场的公共健身中心的延伸。
With the purpose of creating a more active and alive People’s Square, each of the three programs are paired with one of the 3 distinctive park areas, creating a symbiotic relationship between public facilities and public parks. The Events space is an outdoor continuation of the Civic Reading Center, creating an indoor and outdoor urban living room for the city. The Nature and recreation, the lungs of the city, create a secret garden surrounding the Museum, while the outdoor sports area is an extension of the Public Fitness Center, a playground for Xiangshan’s inhabitants.

In our scheme, People’s Square is a sequence of green and public spaces that activate the entire site. Enhancing the human experience, and making a community-oriented destination that visitors and inhabitants will visit again and again.

设计利用景观元素作为建筑的催化剂，让整个场地的南北剖面描绘出一系列山谷和山脉图景，“河流”其间。而阅读庭院又将文化单体联系在一起，创造了令人惊叹的通高空间和室内外关系，全民健身中心也创造了一系列连续空间，沿着山形，流畅地从室内延伸到室外。各类项目形成了地标性建筑网络，遍布整个场地，打造出一系列激活过渡区的节点，使整个广场一整天都能保持朝气和繁荣。
Using the landscape as an architectural generator, north-south sections across the site show how the buildings create the series of valleys and mountains, with the river flowing along the valleys inbetween the buildings. The Reading Courtyard links the cultural program, creating exciting double height spaces and indoor-outdoor relationships. The Public Fitness Center also creates a continuous series of spaces. That fluidly move from indoor to outdoor under the mountain profile of the building. The different programs are spread as a network of landmarks across the site. Creating a series of nodes that activate the transition areas and keeps the entire Square thriving 24 hours a day.

From TOD to TOP
作为进入象山的标志性门户，TOD商业综合体旨在将城市的想象力场景引入城市中心，就像花岱盐场和钓鱼岛。它象征着城市的面貌，也是进入广场的发现之旅的开始。从轨道交通站点出来，游客会立即进入一个隐匿在公园里的活力广场——从TOD到TOP，一个全新的交通导向型城市公园被创造出来：这是一个现代化车站的新概念，将景观的品质融入高科技的发展，将现代城市的生活方式与自然和绿色紧密结合。它是感官的终极体验，一个国际化的目的地，将当地风味与高品质的购物区相结合，迎接游客来到一个未来的绿色空间。
Acting as a gateway to the city of Xiangshan, the TOD Commercial complex aims to bring the city’s imaginative scenes into the urban center, from the Huadai Fields to Fishing Island. It is the introduction to the city, and the start of the journey of discovery into the People’s Square. From the metro, visitors arriving into the city immediately discover a lively plaza embedded in a park. This creates a completely new experience from a TOD to a TOP, a Transit Oriented Park: a fresh concept of a modern station that takes the qualities of the landscape into a hi-tech development, One that binds modern city lifestyles with nature and extensive green. It is the ultimate experience of the senses, an international destination of local cuisine all combined with thrilling shopping areas, welcoming the visitor to a futuristic green space.

# 深蓝步道
The Deep Blue Walk
深蓝步道提供了一个以天窗连接地铁平台与地下一层到达广场的中庭，并可直达人民广场。这段旅程为游客带来一连串以社区为核心、以人为本的空间。地铁站也通过下沉式中庭与地下相邻的公交枢纽串联。深蓝步道延续了抵达体验，大型的下沉式开放中庭用于艺术装置和社区活动，沿途的瀑布在天空和海洋间创造了一个直观的视觉体验，是人们进入象山中心的第一站。
The Deep Blue Walk provides a skylight atrium connection from the underground train platform directly with our above-ground arrival plaza on B1 into People’s Square. The journey brings visitors through a sequence of human-centric spaces with a community focus. The metro station is also connected to the adjacent transit Terminal below ground by connected sunken atriums. The Deep Blue Walk continues the arrival experience with a large sunken open atrium for art installation and community events, with a wall of waterfalls along the way. Creating an intuitive link between the sky and sea is their first step into the heart of Xiangshan.

The sweeping canopy, a technological mountain that provides sun shading for the TOP, visually connects all of the transit, commercial, and residential program. It is a signature gesture that functions on an architectural and master plan scale.

Civic Reading Center
嵌入景观之中的全民阅读中心向大型节事广场开放，向广场上的人们展现一个知识图书馆，并且模糊了室内外边界。广场和阅读中心融合，这两个公共空间成为一个整体。
Civic Reading Center, embedded in the landscape, opens up to the large festival plaza, presenting a library of knowledge to the people in the plaza and blurring the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The two public spaces become a whole, integrating the plaza and the reading center.

The Civic Reading Center is distributed into three areas, fully connected on B1 level, that break into two parts on ground floor, keeping the Deep Blue Theater as a separate entity, only connected by the roof, so that it can be accessed and operate on a different schedule.

Wanjuan Hub inside Civic Reading Center aims to be the public open interactive zone that is not limited by its walls to provide a very adaptable floorplan. An open space, comprehensive and dynamic, it encourages digital reading to all generations with views looking over the natural valley and river. The interior of the reading room resembles a forest of tall pillars with a translucent roof that allows light to shine into the hall. From the rows of seats, visitors can look out onto the large plaza. The lobby is a community gathering place and a social living room for the citizens of Xiangshan. The reading room is visually connected and overlooks the Reading Pond and the Shanhai Wanxiang Hall on the west side.

The Reading Pond serves as an interior garden that provides outdoor quiet spaces that can be over and shared, an oasis of tranquility, and connects the different spaces of the Civic Reading Center, the Reading Area, Wanjuan Hub, Deep Blue Theater, and the i-30 Tower. It connects the Reading Center to Wanxiang Hall and is linked to the gift store and secondary entrance of the hall.

The theater on the north side is a small multi-purpose auditorium that can be used for events such as performances, lectures, and internal meetings. We have expanded it into a semi-underground space and with a seating capacity of approximately 500+, it will be a perfect venue for future events for the film and television industry in Xiangshan.

i-30塔是一个冥想的地方，是指引象山灵魂的灯塔。入口处与阅读中心相连，玻璃塔可以俯瞰周围起伏的景观。仰望星空，i-30塔及其内部的“星宇之光”是一种精神体验，沿着知识的阶梯将水和天空相连，带来精神的升华。它是一个半球形的光球，作为一个神奇的元素漂浮在山上，看起来似乎不可触及，是一个非常醒目的地标。
The i-30 is a place for meditation, a lighthouse to help guide the souls of Xiangshan. Connected below ground to the Reading Center, the glass tower overlooks the surrounding undulating landscape. Looking up towards the stars, the i-30 Tower contains the Xingyu Light inside is a spiritual experience that links the water with the sky along the stairs of knowledge, and ascension to the heavens. Formalized as a semi-sphere of light that floats over the hill as a magical element, but is visible from everywhere on the site.

# 全民健身中心
Public Fitness Center
全民健身中心位于地块的西南区域，在“山谷”和丹南路之间开放。它由两个主要区域衔接而成：西边的多功能竞技场，以及东边的球类和休闲场馆。人民广场的户外运动区位于全民健身中心旁边的下沉式花园，作为全民健身中心的户外延伸。
Public Fitness Center sits on the southwest area of the site, opening itself between the “valley” and Dannan Road. It’s articulated by two main areas, the Multi-Purpose Arena on the west, and the Ball and Leisure Venues on the east. The Outdoor Sports Zone of People’s Square is located in the sunken garden next to Public Fitness Center, serving as an outdoor extension of it.

多功能体育馆是一个半户外空间，空间体现了极强的可适应性，可根据活动的类型开放或封闭，举办大规模竞技体育或小型集会活动，并对公众开放，俯瞰周围花园景色。场馆具有一个额外的灯光结构，包含中心设备以及一个为特殊赛事打开的可移动天窗。球类比赛场地置于大景观屋顶下的大空间，其透明幕墙向南开放，可以让人直观地看到内部设施。
The Multi-purpose Arena is a semi-outdoor space, that can be enclosed for specific activities. Versatile and adaptable, it can host mass games or smaller activities, open for the public to enjoy wile overlooking vast views of surrounding gardens. With an extra light structure, it showcases a central oculus, a movable skylight that opens for special game days. The additional Ball Venues are housed in a large room underneath the big landscape roof, with a great transparent façade opening out to the south that showcases the facilities within.

Shanhai Wanxiang Museum
漂浮在水面上的山海万象馆主要由两个体块构成，开放的布局按层串联起各个展厅。它既是人民广场西北入口的新门户，也是吸引游客进入广场的地标。平和宁静、简约现代的形式，展现了其内部历史及城市规划展览的过去/未来双重特性。
The Shanhai Wanxiang Museum expresses itself with two main volumes, organizing the diverse exhibition halls by levels in a very open floor plan. Forming both a new gate at the northwest entrance of People’s Square, and a landmark that attracts visitors into the square, with the Museum is a serene icon that merges simplicity with modernity. The Museum’s form expresses the duality between the history exhibitions and urban planning exhibitions, the future and the past.

山海万象馆共有四层，从被水包围的地面层临时展厅到顶层的万象山海特展厅，中心螺旋楼梯连接起所有区域，并在俯瞰山谷的屋顶花园到达尾声。中间层的艺术空间结合了展览与教育功能，将成为象山人民的标志性文化目的地。
There are in total four levels in the Museum, from the temporary exhibition on the ground floor, surrounded by water, to the Wanxing Shanhai Special Exhibition Hall on the top floor. The centralized spiral staircase connects all the areas, finishing on a sky garden rooftop that overlooks the valley. On the intermediate levels, the art space combines exhibition with education, becoming an iconic cultural destination for the people of Xiangshan.
