An hourglass is a device that has been used since antiquity, and is still being used in our everyday lives, its shape barely changing over thousands of years.

沙漏自古就有，至今仍在我们的日常生活中使用，它的形状几千年来几乎没有变化。

With the advent of digital clocks, the hourglass has transitioned from serving a functional role to convey more of as entimental value, symbolizing the idea of time.

随着数字时钟的出现，沙漏已经从一个功能角色转变为传达更多的情感价值，象征着时间的概念。

By examining this simple mechanism of sand falling through a constricted passage due to gravity, and altering the speed and the angle, one can actually change the perception of the flow of time.

通过检查这个简单的机制，沙子通过一个狭窄的通道由于重力，并改变速度和角度，一个人实际上可以改变对时间流动的感知。

In other words, the concept of this collection could be said to be “designing time itself”.The four different hourglasses were carved out from a volume of transparent acrylic.The interior cavities to accumulate the sand have been polished by hand with fine metal needles tipped with abrasives. This production method gives the shapes an almost natural, organic appearance, resembling clouds and puddles, conveying the feeling that time is moving even more freely than it was before.

换句话说，这个系列的概念可以说是“设计时间本身”。四个不同的沙漏是由一个透明丙烯酸体量雕刻而成。内部的空腔积累的沙子是由手工抛光的细金属针尖端的磨具。

这种制作方法赋予了形状一个几乎自然、有机的外观，像云和水洼，传达的感觉，时间移动比以前更自由。

1.time divided
“Five minutes” worth of sand divided into two cavities; “three minutes” worth of sand accumulates the left chamber, when filling this chamber completely, the sand starts falling into the right chamber, countingadditional “two minutes”.

“五分钟”的沙子分成两腔;“三分钟”的沙子堆积在左腔，当这个腔完全填满时，沙子开始进入右腔，计算额外的“两分钟”。

2. time converted
The angles of the chambers control the movement of the sand; on the way going, sand travels down the right path counting “two minutes”. Once flipped over, and the sand is coming back, it is directed to the left route that counts only “one minute”.

2.时间转换

储层的角度控制着砂体的运动;在路上，沙沿着正确的路径行进，计算着“两分钟”。一旦沙子被翻过来，沙子就会回到原来的位置，它就会被引导到只有“一分钟”的左边。

3. time doubled
When sand falls from the first chamber into the second, it counts “one minute”.
Once the sand has drained from the second chamber into the lower one, “two minutes” have passed.

3.时间翻了一倍

当沙子从第一个房间掉到第二个房间时，它只算“一分钟”。

一旦沙子从第二个房间排到下面的房间，“两分钟”就过去了。

4. times three

Three puddle-like chambers are left open at the top of the hourglass, depending into which chamber the sand is poured, same amount of sand can count “one”, “two” or “three” minutes.
