Alena Alena Olasyuk 是一位乌克兰艺术家,在北京生活了 12 年,现居维也纳。 她在北京服装学院学习并获得艺术和媒体学位后开始了她的中国职业生涯。 所表达的根本佛教思想是她的艺术语言,其特点是那些细密而重复的线条,向观众传达了一种冥想的感觉。 被中国水墨的微妙质感所吸引,她煞费苦心地创造出这些准确而合乎逻辑的模式探索,在二元之间的潜力中反映了一种普遍的同理心:复杂与简单; 抽象与表示; 宁静与干扰。 “介于两者之间”的感觉支撑着她的艺术之旅,并推动她在世界上找到平衡。 正如她曾经说过的,“我的意图是让观众有一种凝视远方的感觉,看海看山”,她的作品让我们在转瞬即逝的瞬间寻找无限可能。
Alena Olasyuk is an Ukraine artist who lived in Beijing for 12 years and now based in Vienna.
She started her career in China after studying at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and gained her degrees in arts and media. The underlying Buddhist ideas expressed through are her artistic language which is characterized by those fine and repetitive lines that convey a meditative feeling to the viewer. Attracted by the subtle texture of Chinese ink, she painstakingly creates these accurate and logical patterns exploration in the potential between dualities reflect a universal empathy: complexity versus simplicity; abstraction versus representation; tranquility versus disturbance. The sense of “in between” underpins her artistic journey and pushes her to find the balance in the world. As she once said, “I had an intention to bring the feeling as if the viewer gazes into the distance, watching the sea or the mountains,” her works allow us to search for the infinite possibilities in the ephemeral moment.

两者之间的空间是我想要探索的空间。 介于传统与现代、黑白、控制与偶然、复杂与简单、刚柔相济。 在视觉上,我喜欢找到这个空间,让我的作品可以保持非常简单而不乏味; 复杂但不过度情绪化。 在创作每一件作品时,我总是想知道我还能用媒介和美学做些什么,以及我的想法何时会结束。 但有时,为了测试我的感官和视觉,看看某些元素是否有那种“在中间”的感觉,我允许自己越过界限,走向复杂或简单的极端。
That space in between is the one I want to explore.What lies between traditional and contemporary, between black and white, control and accidental, between complex and simple, and between hardness and softness. Visually, I like to find this space where my works can stay very simple but not dull; complex but not over-emotional. While creating each piece, I always wonder what else I can do with the medium and the aesthetics, and when my ideas will reach the end. But sometimes, I allow myself to cross the line and go to the extreme of complexity or simplicity for the sake of testing my senses and vision and seeing if certain elements have that «In-Between» feeling.

Hundreds of lines created by the repetition evoke a resonating sense of vibration. Even though the patterns are a conscious decision, the concept of self-repetition within goes beyond the work itself. artistscreate art similar to each other, with slight differences in colors, shapes, or shadows. And when you look at these similar pieces, you might need to stop for a moment to spot a different feeling stimulated by a dot or a new element.
