The house has a large, beautiful garden and spectacular harbor views, but sometimes it doesn't take advantage of either. So the designer's mission was to change that and re-evaluate the outdoor space is what really makes this heritage building sing. As a busy social family, the clients wanted the spaces to promote fun, entertainment and relaxation.

The location and the site itself played a major role in the inspiration for this project, even the loft, which has a view of the Harbor Bridge through the small windows. As with many older home revivals, the home's original material palette was another key source of inspiration. "The designer developed a strong admiration for the building's history and sought to build on it. The result was calm, playful and uplifting, a key driver of planning and decision-making.
